Director and founder Philip Bacon heads up the team here at OpenHaus Kitchens. With a background in art and design Philip is a craftsman at heart, he is envolved with all stages of the design process through to final installation.
So we are all about thougtful planning, excellent design work and skilled craftsmanship, whether this is represented by one of Philip's hand made guitars in the corner of the design studio or a perfectly functioning kitchen space - Our name OpenHaus reflects our approach, one that is welcoming and inviting and fuses the best of both British and German design and ideas. It’s a London style showroom in the heart of Sussex with a very personal touch.
Our inspiration is you. A kitchen has to have personality as well as functionality and, in order to achieve that, we need to spend time with you. Everybody’s space, budget and lifestyle is different but we believe that brilliant design, attention to detail and a really personal service should be available to everyone.
A kitchen can be a design statement that reflects you - it's a personal choice which all starts with you and your vision. To get it right you need to experience how our kitchens feel and we need to understand you, your lifestyle and your space.
Storage space can be limited in a kitchen and therefore precious. Organisation is key. Drawers and pull-outs equipped with clever inserts ensure elegant storage solutions that complete your kitchen space.
Every OpenHaus kitchen is a manifestation of traditional craftsmanship and carefully selected materials of the highest quality. When it comes to durability, longevity and safety we are not willing to make any compromises because OpenHaus kitchens are kitchens for life.
The secret to a great kitchen is combining innovation and design, understanding how your materials work together and detailed craftsmanship. An important consideration in developing your kitchen is the use of high grade materials: real wood, such as oak and walnut, shimmering metal alongside granite and quartz. We take the best from German and English aesthetics, and we explore new aspects of kitchen design to create a kitchen that doesn’t just work, it's tactile, it flows effortlessly.
Our kitchens are tactile and precisely made, fusing both natural and created surfaces, dovetailing the handcrafted with the latest technology. Even our German kitchens have a touch of the handmade - with the inclusion of book-matched veneers and other hand finished elements.
We combine highly engineered materials with the carefully handmade so that they look and work beautifully together. Combined with innovative systems and storage it will ensure the best use of your space.
The demands made on the functionality of a kitchen are higher than ever before. Innovative equipment and pull-out systems ensure the optimum use of space. Ergonomic design, optimized lighting and practical details guarantee a relaxed working environment.
We’ve renovated The Old Chapel showroom to reflect our design intentions and so this is where your design begins - attention to detail, and finish are at the heart of what we do.
Kitchens are such a personal choice and it all starts with you and your vision. To get it right you need to experience how a kitchen feels and we need to understand you, your lifestyle and your space. Then together we create your kitchen: your lifestyle and vision, our design skills, technology and expertise.
Once you have the design, we can bring your ideas to life with our CAD technology and then our skilled craftsmen will create your bespoke kitchen.
We’ve been designing, creating and installing kitchens for more than 20 years. We understand our materials and how to get the best from them. Our products and careful planning combine to reinvent the space.
